Tangalooma Island Resort are proud to sponsor The Kids' Cancer Project for the second year running by continuing our donation commitment of $5 for every whale sighted during the Whale Watching season.

In 2016, Tangalooma Island Resort were proud to donate $6000 to The Kids' Cancer Project to help fund critical research into kids cancer.

Tangalooma Director Normie Wilson and his partner Hotel Manager Brianna Preobrajensky have a deep personal connection to the charity.

Their beautiful son Oscar, who lives at the resort, was diagnosed with Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma in May 2011.

Oscar finished his treatment in Sep 2012 but the passion and determination to raise funds for the important work that The Kids' Cancer Project do lives on.

Tangalooma endeavours to raise even more for the charity with collection tins on board the vessel and merchandise available throughout the  resort for public donations.

Kids Cancer Project

The Kids’ Cancer Project is an independent national charity dedicated to supporting childhood cancer research. Kids' cancer is different to adult cancer. Current treatments like radiation and chemotherapy are very harsh causing many kids to develop side-effects long after treatment has ended.

The Kids’ Cancer Project was founded in 1993 by Col Reynolds who decided to step up and do something to help. Now, thanks to community support, the charity has committed tens of millions of dollars to scientific research projects to help children with many types of cancer.

Science is making an impact, providing new treatment options and giving hope to the 950 children and young adolescents diagnosed each year.

If you believe science is the solution join us. By working together, we will make a difference to help kids with cancer.
